While trying to minimize the amount of usernames and passwords that are used
on campus through various systems, it's inevitable that at some point you are
going to need help with one of your passwords. This page will help you start to
troubleshoot your own passwords, and refer you to where you can get more help
for the supported systems.
Network and Email
For network and email passwords, first ensure that you are using the correct
username and password. For students, your username should be your first and last
initials and the last five digits of your Student ID number, located on the
front of your GullCard. For faculty and staff, your username is your first and
middle initials and your last name. For all accounts, the password is a minimum
of 8 characters long, and must have at least one lowercase
and one uppercase letter and one number, cannot be anything previously
used, and cannot use 3 consecutive characters that exactly
match you first name, your last name, or your login id (username). Also
note that once you change your password, you cannot perform another password
change for 8 days.
Try to log in, either to one of the on-campus computers or to
your SU email
through WebAccess. If
your login fails, make note of the error, and do not continue to try to log in
more than twice (repeated attempts may end up locking your account for 30
minutes).
If the password fails, go to the
MyPassword page and click the Forgot My Password link. Enter your username
when prompted, and then enter in your EmplID (which is your seven digit student
ID number on the front of the GullCard), your social security number, and your
date of birth as shown, with the
four digit year.
If this fails, try unchecking hide answers and repeat entry on the answers.
If it still fails, try using one digit numbers instead of two digit numbers for
the date of birth question (i.e., for a January birthday, try 1 instead of 01 as
shown in the example).
If still unsuccessful, call or stop into the Help Desk for assistance.
If it is successful, a popup will appear. Use this window to set a new
password. Give it a few minutes for the password to take effect, and try again.
If after changing your password you still experience issues, please contact
the Help Desk.
myClasses@SU
myClasses@SU uses the same password as your Network and
email account. Follow
the steps above, and remember to give the system a few minutes after
successfully changing your password in order to allow for time to synchronize
the passwords between the two systems. If you still experience issues, please
contact the Help Desk.
GullNet
GullNet uses the same username as the Network and email systems, but uses
a different password.
Any user using the system may have a new password mailed to them by going
through the Forgot My Password link on the GullNet login page. It will ask you
for your username, and for the answer to a security question. Once completed, it
will email a new password to you. For incoming students not yet matriculated, it
will mail to the email address you provided on your application. For current
students, faculty and staff it will mail to your SU email address.
It is recommended that when you receive this email, you double click the
password in the email to select only the password, with no leading or trailing
spaces. Then copy the password by typing CTRL-C and then paste the copied
password into the password field on the GullNet login page by typing CTRL-V.
Five consecutive login failures will lock your account. For students only,
Forgot My Password will also unlock your account.
If you are faculty or staff and have locked your account, or are a student,
faculty or staff member who has gone through the above steps and is still in
need of assistance, please call the Help Desk.
Peoplesoft Financials and Foundation Accounts
Some faculty and staff members have PeopleSoft Financials and Foundation
Accounts. GullNet Financials can be accessed at
http://www.salisbury.edu/gullnet/financials/financial_fdn.asp. Financials
shares the same username as Network and email, but uses a separate password.
Foundation accounts follow a similar pattern for their username, but with a -suf
appended.
Faculty and staff members who are unable to log into Financials can call the
Help Desk for assistance in unlocking their account and/or changing their
password. There is no "forgot my password" option for these systems.
