Christina Camillo earned a B.S. degree in Medical Laboratory Science from Salisbury University and an M.S. degree from University of MD, Baltimore in Biomedical Research. Ms. Camillo began her career in an unconventional way. She spent many years at the National Aquarium in Baltimore, MD, performing complex and diverse laboratory analysis for all the inhabitants of the aquarium. Veterinary laboratory work continues to be a passion for her, but she eventually transitioned back to human laboratory work and honed her expertise in Transfusion Services (Blood Bank). Ms. Camillo is the sole expert in Transfusion Services in the MLS Program, but her vast experience with a wide array of microbes at the aquarium has been a valuable asset in the MLS Program’s microbiology laboratories. Ms. Camillo is also the MLS Program Clinical Coordinator and is responsible for setting up, managing and supervising off-site clinical internships for all MLS students.
