Required
Vaccinations:

Meningococcal Vaccine
Maryland law requires that all students, graduate
and undergraduate, enrolled at the University and who reside
in on-campus housing have the meningococcal vaccine or a
signed waiver on file in SHS.

Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR)
The MMR vaccine
must have been given after the first birthday and a second
shot must have been given after 1980. (exempt if born before
1956)

PPD (test for Tuberculosis)
within the last year.
Recommended Vaccinations

Tetanus/Diptheria (TD) every 10
years. Finally, due to the
increasing number of cases of Pertussis (whooping cough) the
Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recommends
routine use of Tdap [tetanus, diphtheria, and acellular
pertussis] (Adacel brand) as a single (one-time) booster
among adults aged 19-64 years, to replace Td booster
immunization if the last dose of Td was received more than 10
years ago.
- Hepatitis B vaccination is strongly recommended
- Gardasil
(the new vaccine that provides immunity for HPV)
is recommended for women
ages 9 – 26.
Remember: Students, regardless of age, are required to
provide verification of up-to-date immunizations.
Your major may have other
requirements. Upon admission to that program, please contact the
department.
Student Health Services will
administer these vaccines at the listed cost.
- Diphtheria/Tetanus - $15
- Hepatitis B Vaccine - $30
- Gardasil vaccine - $130
