Description: NIMH, NIDA, NINDS and NIAAA support research (R01) on defining pathogenic mechanisms involved in HIV-1 Associated Neurocognitive Disorders (HAND) and identifying therapeutic strategies to treat and prevent the neurobehavioral & neurological effects of HIV-1 on the central nervous system. Applications ranging from basic research to clinical diagnosis & treatment in domestic and international settings are of interest. Multidisciplinary research teams & collaborative alliances encouraged but not required. The program expires 1/8/14.
