Description: NIDA & NIAAA support research (R01; R03; R21) to understand ways people make decisions about engaging in behaviors that impact risk of acquiring or transmitting HIV, or to adhere to treatments for HIV. Encourages applications to study cognitive, motivational or emotional mechanisms &/or brain neuroendocrine & reinforcement systems that relate to HIV-risk behaviors or treatment non-compliance. R01 apps solicit empirical, hypothesis-driven research; R21 or R03 apps solicit exploratory, descriptive or hypothesis-generating research. The program expires 1/8/14.
