Description:	Funding supports research to develop new theories that explain how conceptual knowledge is represented in the human brain and test those theories by demonstrating the ability to predict and interpret concept-related patterns of neural activity measured non-invasively. It is highly recommended that academic institutions submit with their proposal a completed and signed Academic Institution Acknowledgement Letter for each U.S. academic organization that is a part of their team, whether the academic organization is serving in the role of prime, or a subcontractor or consultant at any tier of their team. Facility construction costs are not allowable under this activity and funding may not be used to pay for commercialization of technology. DEADLINE NOTE: Proposals are due March 11, 2013. Multiple awards are anticipated. The office will accept questions about the solicitation until February 25, 2013. A consolidated Question and Answer response will be publicly posted every few days on the agency website at http://www.iarpa.gov/Programs/ia/KRNS/solicitation_krns.html.
