| Description: | Funding supports full-time graduate and undergraduate students and Ph.D. professionals conducting scientific research in any field of science and engineering. Awards of up to $1,000 (up to $5,000 for astronomy research or $2,500 for vision related research) pay for travel expenses to and from a research site, for purchase of non-standard laboratory equipment necessary to complete a specific research project, or for reimbursement of human subjects. Sigma Xi membership not required. Proposals are due 3/15 and 10/15 annually.
