Description: Funding supports scientific research that examines relationships between science (including engineering), technology, and society. STS researchers use diverse methods including social science, historical, and philosophical methods. Effective STS proposals go beyond describing the interaction between science, technology and society to explain how proposed research provides new and important scientific insights into the theory or practice of science (or engineering) or into the adoption, use, or diffusion of technology. Annual deadlines are 2/1 and 8/1.
