| Description: | Funding supports fundamental research leading to the creation of innovative mathematical models, analysis, and algorithms for optimal or near optimal decision-making, applicable to the design and operation of manufacturing, service, and other complex systems. Areas of interest include discrete and continuous optimization, stochastic modeling and analysis, simulation optimization, and self-optimizing systems that can observe, learn, and adapt to changing environments. Annual proposal windows are 1/15 to 2/15 and 9/1 to 10/1.
