| Description: | Funding supports engineering research on thermal transport phenomena at micro and macro scales in cooling and heating of equipment and devices; energy conversion, power generation, and thermal energy; synthesis and processing of materials; propulsion of air- and land-based vehicles; and thermal phenomena in biological systems. Priority is given to research on problems with broad economic, environmental, and societal impact, and to novel studies of heat and mass transfer principles. The annual proposal window is 1/15-2/19.
