| Description: | Funding supports basic and applied research by recent Ph.D.s and senior researchers at federal laboratories and research facilities. Stipends support research in chemistry; earth and atmospheric sciences; engineering and applied sciences; biological, health, and behavioral sciences; neuroscience; biotechnology; math; space and planetary sciences; and physics. Annual deadlines are 2/1, 5/1, 8/1, and 11/1, but not all laboratories participate in all four rounds.
