Michael E. Folkoff, PhD (University of
Georgia)
Dr. Folkoff is Interim Dean of the Henson School of
Science and Technology for the 2006 – 2007 academic
year. He is a Professor in the Department of
Geography and Geosciences with teaching and research
interests in Soil Geomorphology, Surface Hydrology and
Cartography. A former Department Chair, he is the
Graduate Coordinator for the newly approved Masters of
Science in GIS and Public Administration. Mike has
been a faculty member at Salisbury since 1990 after
appointments at the University of Connecticut and the
University of New Orleans. He holds a PhD in Physical
Geography, climatic effects on soil physical and
chemical properties, from the University of Georgia.

Michael S. Scott, PhD (University of South
Carolina)
MSGISPA Graduate Program Director
Dr. Scott is an associate professor of Geography and
Geosciences at SU and is director of the Eastern Shore
Regional GIS Cooperative (ESRGC). He holds a master's
and PhD in Geography, specializing in geographic
information science, from the University of South
Carolina. To date, his research at Salisbury University
has focused on the use of GIS technology to support
local government applications such as public transit
routing, tracking failing septic systems, and analyzing
land use patterns.

Arthur
J. Lembo, Jr., PhD
(State University of New York College of Environmental
Science and Forestry)
Dr. Lembo received his BS in Geography from
SUNY College at Oneonta (1987), MS in Geography from SUNY
Buffalo (1989) and his PhD in Environmental Resource Engineering
from SUNY College of
Environmental Science and Forestry. His
specializations include spatial analysis, spatial database
design, and
the
use of advanced information technologies for geo-processing

Michael O'Loughlin, PhD
(Ohio State University)
Dr. O'Loughlin (Associate Professor and Chair of the
Dept of Political Science) received a B.A. in political
science from the University of Pittsburgh (1973) and his
Ph.D. in political science from The Ohio State
University (1984). His teaching fields are courses in
American politics and government, public policy
analysis, and political theory.

Catherine M. Beise, PhD
(Georgia State University)
Dr. Beise's previous experience includes work in
industry as a consultant, systems analyst, and
programmer for a large computer vendor, a
telecommunications company, and a systems consulting
firm. She holds a PhD from the College of Business
at Georgia State University and an MS in Information and
Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of
Technology. Her current research interests include
project management of dispersed IT project teams, and
on-line learning.

Dr. Thomas is the Vice
President for University Advancement and Executive
Director of the Foundation at
SU. She holds a Master
of Public Administration degree from the University of
South Carolina and a Doctorate
of Education from West Virginia University in
specializing in Educational
