Cycling stunts by a champion, live
jousting in a Renaissance setting, slithery reptiles, fiery
explosions, energizing drumming, old-fashioned hay rides, story
telling, face painting, and a cornucopia of music, art, games
and other educational activities: Saturday’s Fun Day 2008:
Explore SU offered local families an afternoon festival that
attracted some 4,000 people—including many children from the
local community. Over 500 SU students, faculty and staff
volunteered with University friends to create this celebration
of learning. All activities were free. The event has become a
tradition on the Eastern Shore, drawing attendees from
Salisbury, Wicomico County and the surrounding region. Said one
starry eyed six-year-old who had never been on campus before: “I
want to go to SU!” We hope she will, too.
