Bathrooms: Rest rooms are available on the first floors of Blackwell Library, Henson Science Hall, Holloway Hall, Maggs Gym, Teacher Education and Technology Center, and Fulton Hall.
First Aid: The Medical Careers Society is on hand for all your first aid needs on the Fun Day Green.

Henson Hall

  • Your Name in Arabic – The Muslim Student Association shows how to write your name using the Arabic alphabet. (Room 101)
  • Respiratory Therapy – Participate in breathing exercises to learn about the lungs. There’s a life-size patient to observe as well. Decorate pumpkins while you soak up the oxygen. (Room 103)
  • M&M Math – Does your bag of M&Ms have enough green ones? Or maybe too many? Once you count candy to see how your bag compares, you get to eat them. (Room 107)
  • Napkin Folding (1 p.m.) & Candy Sushi (2 p.m.) – Dining Services teaches you how to fold regular napkins into designs that will impress your friends, and then the craze of sushi meets the sweetness of candy as you decorate these culinary treats. (Room 111)
  • Chinese Calligraphy – (1-3 p.m.) Get a short message or your name written in this ancient and beautiful art. (Room 109)
  • Jester Hats – The German Club conducts a favorite that lets you create and decorate your own jester hat with all sorts of different materials. (Room 113)
  • Kids Fashion Show – Parents have your cameras ready for pictures of your aspiring models and fashion designers as Pashion 4 Fashion and NAACP use accessories to dress-up and glamorize. (Room 115)
  • Educational Games – The Student Nurses Association is back with healthy lifestyle education games and tons more. (Room 123)
  • Interactive Reading and Math Games – The Sylvan Learning Center brings their interactive tile game to Fun Day for some educational excitement. (Room 148)
  • Games, Demonstrations and Experiments – Watch amazing pollution and erosion demonstrations with the Geography Society. (Room 160)
  • Junior Police Badges – Salisbury University Police teach safety rules and hand out honorary junior badges. (Henson Hallway)
  • Salisbury Police Fingerprinting – Get fingerprinted and see how your prints help cops find the bad guys. (Henson Hallway)
  • Gull Cards – Pose for a picture and let the Gull Card Office create your very own Fun Day 2008 identification card. (Henson Lounge)
  • Giant Bubble Creation Machine – The Wesley Foundation sponsors this amazing contraption. Stand in the center and watch as the bubble forms around you before it pops! (Henson Lounge)
  • Robo Frogs & More! – Enjoy activities and make a map with the Biology Department to find your way home. (Room 253)
  • The K-9 Cop (2-3 p.m.) The Wicomico County Sheriff ’s Department brings their brave police dog to demonstrate how a smart crime dog catches the bad guys. (Henson Courtyard)
 

Fun Day Green

  • Fun Day Welcome Tent – Start your day off right with a warm welcome from the Student Alumni Council and a Fun Day activity schedule.
  • Mountain Bike Stunt Show – (Shows: 1:15 p.m. & 3 p.m.) Sponsored by Honest Tea, champion mountain biker Mike Steidley demonstrates the “ups and downs” of stunt cycling. Shows run 45 minutes.
  • Hayride – Board our farm wagon to take a leisurely ride while enjoying recorder music provided by Dr. Jim Hatley. This wagon makes stops at Fun Day locations around campus.
  • WICO/Cat Country Ice Cream Truck – (1-3 p.m.) Enjoy tunes and dessert with DJ Dixie.
  • Photos with Sammy the Sea Gull – Smile for your close-up with SU’s feathery mascot, Sammy.
  • Moon Bounce – Ace Hardware supplies the inflatable fun with the Curious George Moon Bounce.
  • Rock Wall – Test your climbing skills with this five-person wall from Extreme Events.
  • Inflatable Obstacle Course – This crazy and fun-filled course is sponsored by Residence Life. Can you tackle this obstacle course?
  • Dunking Booth – Give a college student a much-needed bath when you hit the target and they go splash.
  • Misting Tent and Bottled Water Giveaways – Relax, cool off and refresh with the H2O supplied by Healthy U and bike safety activities from Sea Gull Century.
  • First Aid Station – If you get a scrape or cut, visit this table to receive some sympathy and quick first aid from the Medical Careers Society.
  • Freeze Dance – Test your dance skills against SU’s own Untouchables.
  • Fun Day Food Tent – University Dining Services has great grab-and-go food for you to buy and enjoy.
  • Spinning Wheel – Take a turn on the wheel and win a prize! Brought to you by PNC Bank.

Music Acts  Fun Day Green

  • Larence Becker 2-2:45 p.m.

Henson Mall

  • Snakes Alive – Get up close and personal with some slithery friends during this exciting reptile show, sponsored by SOAP.
  • Ward Museum – Kids can carve too! Try your hand at carving usingchild-safe tools.
  • Disc Golf – No putting involved, this is golf you play with a Frisbee. Try the three-hole disc golf course and see friendly Frisbee dog Bear. (In front of Devilbiss Hall)
  • Boys Scouts of America – Visit with the BSA and have some fun while learning valuable scouting tips.
  • Lacrosse Clinic (1-3 p.m.) The SU women’s lacrosse team conducts a fun lacrosse clinic for all skill levels.
  • Wee Gulls – Enjoy coloring activities and prizes.

TETC

  • Building Tours – Explore the newest addition to SU on a TETC tour. Tours begin in the middle entrance through the courtyard and run every 15 minutes. Be sure to check out the new television studio. There’s a lot to see!
  • May Literacy Center – Experience literacy in a whole new way! These fun activities and games are a must see.
  • SU Putt-Putt Course – Student organizations and the SGA bring you this nine hole miniature golf course. Try to sink a hole-in-one! (Courtyard)
  • Free Drink Station – After you work up a thirst playing putt-putt, grab a free drink. (Courtyard)

Fulton Hall

  • Glass Blowing Demonstrations – SU’s Art Department heats things up to produce unique and attractive glass works. Watch as the glass goes through its metamorphosis.(Room 129 or view outside in courtyard near tennis courts)
  • Pottery Spinning Demonstrations – Take this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see how pottery is created. You can even make your own piece of art by signing up at the Pottery Table in Fulton Hall. (Room 127)
  • Sophanes and Bound & Gagged – SU’s acting troupe and improv group entertain with theatre games, improvisation, storytelling and tours of the scene shop and theatre. (Black Box Theatre)
  • Music Extravaganza - Experience music hands-on with the Music Department. Listen and play with actual instruments. Hand drums begin at 1 p.m. (Room 130)
  • Instrument Petting Zoo – Members of the Salisbury Symphony Orchestra bring their instruments to life. Listen, touch and maybe even play these amazing instruments. (Lobby)

Blackwell Library

  • Library Activities – The library staff and volunteers offer Library Bingo with cool prizes, raffles for kids and adults, story time featuring Elroy the Horse, creating a "Read" poster with your own digital pictures, crafts, facepainting and fun Internet searches.
  • Nabb Research Center – Learn more about the rich and unique history of the Delmarva area with this visual display.
  • Interactive Story Time – Join the fun with Kappa Delta Pi! This fun story time is followed by activities everyone can enjoy.

Holloway Hall Lawn

  • Paragon Jousting – (Shows: 2 p.m. & 4 p.m.) Knights in shining armor with gleaming swords gallop atop their massive warhorses. This award-winning theatrical joust troupe provides a team of experienced performers in colorful period personas.
  • Zany Umbrella Circus Executive Director Ben Sota – Enjoy this “walk-around” performance of Italian Renaissance theatre including fire juggling, Commedia dell’Arte character work, diabolo, walking globe, slack rope and contact juggling.
  • Madame Nora - Freshman Eliner Oziel (aka Madame Nora) sees your future through her reading of the cards.
  • Forgiveness Roses - Rose Girl Alyssa Mullins charms the crowds with her calls of “Forgiveness Roses."
  • Royal Minstrels’ Stage – SU guitar and vocal students provide period music and song.
  • Wee Kiddies Dragon Bounce – The youngest joust goers are invited to bounce upon and slay the inflatable dragon.
  • Ye Olde Sea Gull Tavern – Choose from its Bill-of-Faire (pun-intended) including sumptuous turkey legs for $4.99, birch beer in a commemorative keepsake mug for $2 (refills only $1) and gourmet soft pretzels for $1.50.

Maggs Upstairs Gym

  • Open Swimming Pool (1-3 p.m. only) Take a dip in the big Salisbury University Pool. Lifeguard on duty.
  • Men’s and Women’s Basketball – Shoot around with the big teams. Wow, they’re tall! (Upstairs Court)

Red Square

  • Mask and Bracelet Making – Make your own animal mask and lady bug bracelet with fun and directions provided by Phi Mu.
  • Philosophy Booth – If you could use some quick advice, stop by the Philosophy Society table to get answers to all your toughest questions.
  • Candy Dirt – You can stay clean and eat dessert with this dirt. You might even find a worm in these candy cups. Phi Eta Sigma will also have an optical illusion coloring craft.
  • Spanish Games – The Spanish Club gives you a taste of its culture with piñata breaking. Take a swing at the piñata and see what’s inside.
  • Sand Art – Design, create and keep colorful jars. Volunteers from Girls on Top show how to make good-looking art from grains of sand.
  • Plink-O – The College Republicans invite you to drop a disc and win a prize. Pick up some political literature while you wait to kick.
  • Dr. Seuss Reading Corner– Catholic Campus Ministry offers reading of Bartholomew and the Oobleck by Dr. Seuss (readings at 2 p.m. & 3:30 p.m.).Then make your own oobleck to take with home with you!
  • Environmental Coloring Books – Make your own coloring book with the Environmental Studies Association and answer trivia questions.
  • Ten Toss Game – The Economics Society invites kids to throw foam balls at a pyramid of 10 targets for prizes. Receive a small candy prize just for playing and a large prize for knocking down all targets.
  • Explore the Far East with APIC – Decorate Chinese paper boxes and folding paper with the Asian and Pacific Islander Club.
  • Tae Kwon Do –The Tae Kwon Do Club demonstrates their graceful martial art throughout the day.
  • Musical Chairs – Try to keep your seat with the American Marketing Association.
  • Macaroni Art – The Social Work Club provides the macaroni and material to make wonderful pieces of art.
  • Duck Pick-up – Grab a duck and win a prize with Colleges Against Cancer.
  • Water Pong Toss – Throw a ping-pong ball and win a fish with the Fishing Club!
  • PE Bowling – Try to roll a strike with the Physical Education Society.
  • Picture Painting – Create a masterpiece with the Psychology Club.
  • Designer Sunglasses – You’ll be the designer when you custom make sunglasses with Delta Gamma.
  • Carnival Games – Play games that take you back to the state fair and win great prizes with Phi Beta Lambda.
  • Pie-a-Nerd – Aim your pie toward a member of the StarNet Society and see how accurate you are!
  •  Pin Knock Down – See how many pins you can topple with the Bowling Club.
  • 3-D Bubble Fun and Bean Bag Toss – The Math and Computer Science Club takes bubbles to another dimension. Also try your hand at a bean bag toss.
  • Glitter Art – Help the SU Step Squad decorate with glitter and macaroni.
  • Free Drink Station – After you work up a thirst with the student organizations, grab a free drink.
