Fulton School of Liberal Arts

Fulton Faculty Grants

The Fulton School of Liberal Arts supports the professional development of its faculty, as manifested via research and other significant developmental activities that enhance teaching capabilities and contribute to the advancement of knowledge.  Fulton Faculty Grants are supported through the Charles R. and Martha N. Fulton Endowment and through the indirect costs generated by faculty grant-writing activity.  The Fulton Facutly Grants Committee screens all applications.

Application Deadlines for 2011-2012

Grants are awarded three times annually; reassigned time is awarded twice annually.  Applications must be received by no later than noon on the following dates:

  • Fall 2011 Grant, Spring 2012 Release - Submit by September 9, 2011
  • Winter/Spring 2012 Grant, Fall 2012 Release - Submit by January 13, 2012
  • Summer 2012 Grant - Submit by April 13, 2012

Late or incomplete applications will be not considered.

LOOKING AHEAD TO 2012-2013: 2012-2013 application deadlines, as well as an updated online application, will be posted by mid-summer 2012.  Faculty can expect the 2012-2013 dates to be very much in line with the 2011-2012 dates and that the updated online application will--except for some logistical upgrades--be virtually identical in content and requirements to the 2011-2012 online application currently posted.

PLEASE NOTE #1: Fulton faculty must submit Fulton Faculty Grant applications and all supporting documents except Out-of-State Travel forms electronically by using the "Submit Application" button at the end of the application form and other uploading instructions (regarding supporting documents) located elsewhere in the application.  If an Out-of-State Travel form is needed, submit a hard copy with required signatures directly to the Dean's Office by the application deadline.  The committee cannot accept hard copies of any other components of the application.

PLEASE NOTE #2: The online application does not offer a "Save" feature through which one may interrupt his/her work and return to it later.  With this in mind, please consider looking through the application first and then returning to it later, ready to cut and paste prepared text into it, upload appropriate documents, and submit the application--all in one sitting (it should only take 10 minutes or so, if one has the necessary text and materials ready prior executing the application).
