Costs & Financial Aid
Fall 2013 Costs & Financial Aid
Costs for the Fall Fusion program are split between SU and WWCC. Financial aid is available for eligible students.
Once students have successfully met placement testing requirements, a non-refundable $250 Fall Fusion program participation fee must be paid by May 1. (Please note: Fall Fusion has limited capacity and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.) Program acceptance and payment of the required program acceptance fee may be completed in the GullNet student account.
Students pay WWCC for tuition, which is based on their county of residence. Students pay SU for their room, meal plan, program fee (based on state of residency) and orientation. In addition to the direct costs billed by WWCC and SU, students should also anticipate paying for books which are approximately $650 per semester and their own personal expenses.

*Note: WWCC tuition costs are based on a 16-credit-hour schedule. Fall 2013 projected tuition rates are subject to change.
**Note: Notwithstanding any other provision of this or any other University publication, the University reserves the right to make changes to tuition, fees and other charges at any time such changes are deemed necessary by the University and/or the University System of Maryland Board of Regents.
Financial aid is processed through WWCC for the fall semester and SU for the spring semester. FAFSA results should be directed to both institutions for financial aid to be processed for the appropriate semesters.

Should a student receive a financial aid award from WWCC that exceeds their WWCC tuition charge, the difference will be processed for the student as a refund check. The proceeds from this check are then applied to the charges from SU including room, meal plan and SU program fees. If the expected refund is less than the amount of the student’s SU charges, payment of the remaining cost should be made to SU by the billing deadline of August 2, 2013. Refund checks will be delivered by WWCC to the SU cashiers’ office in late August, 2013. A student receiving a refund check will need to sign the check over to SU to cover remaining charges. If there is still an excess of funding left after the SU charges are satisfied, SU will process a second check for the remaining refund balance.
Please note: the date of the refund check transfer from WWCC is after the official SU bill due date of August 2, 2013. WWCC and SU will be in close contact regarding the status of financial aid for Fall Fusion participants. Students who are paying their SU balance from financial aid proceeds will not be penalized for having outstanding bills past the official bill deadline. However, students who have unresolved financial aid issues or are not planning to utilize financial aid to pay their WWCC or SU charges are held to the official bill due date at each institution. Late fees may apply for those not adhering to the published deadlines.
