Short Biography:

Koomi Kim is an Associate Professor at Salisbury University in the Department of Education Specialties. She has been teaching various literacy related undergraduate and graduate courses since 2003. Her ongoing research agenda is grounded in her interest in the literacy, bi-literacy and multiple literacy developmental processes of readers with diverse linguistic and socio-cultural backgrounds. She has learned about teaching of reading and literacies by working directly with children, their families and their teachers at various institutions in such places as New Mexico, Arizona, California, New York, Japan and Korea. She has published book chapters and articles in education journals such as Journal of Early Childhood Literacy, Journal of Adolescent & Adult Literacy, Talking Points and TESOL Encyclopedia for English Language Teaching, Childhood Education, etc.
