Recognizing and Celebrating Our Achievements!

How do I nominate someone?

The nomination process is simple. Simply draft a letter or an email that includes the following:

  1. Name and position of the person you are nominating
  2. Ways that nominee has contributed to ongoing diversity efforts at SU
  3. Any other reasons you believe that they deserve recognition

Please add specific examples of their efforts, e.g., committees they’ve served on, programs they have initiated, or other examples of the work that they have done to forward and promote diversity on our campus.

Nominations should be submitted to the Office of Institutional Equity by the published deadline. Each award recipient will receive a $200 award and a plaque at a special ceremony and reception scheduled the end of the spring semester.

History

Since 2007, the President and the Office of Diversity have honored the achievements and service of members of the campus community who make extraordinary contributions to promote the appreciation and understanding of cultural diversity at Salisbury University.

In recognition of President Janet Dudley-Eshbach’s commitment to enhanced diversity, the award has been renamed the “President’s Diversity Award.”

Every spring, we invite nominations for the yearly awards. All members of the campus community are encouraged to submit a nomination and acknowledge colleagues and students who demonstrate tireless commitment to supporting and advancing SU’s institutional diversity goals.

Each award recipient receives a $200 award and a plaque. To celebrate the work of the honorees, a ceremony is held at the end of the spring semester. At the ceremony, President Dudley-Eshbach presents the awards to the recipients.
