Learning Abroad
Students can take advantage of learning abroad opportunities
(which also fulfill the “Environmental Experiences” component of
the ENVR major) in three ways:
-
Environmentally-focused trips during the January
or Summer I term. Opportunities include yearly trips
to India, Japan and Honduras; when possible, SU also offers
trips to Iceland, Brazil and Puerto Rico. All trips are led
by SU faculty. Here are some examples:
-
University-affiliated semester abroad programs in
Ecuador, Estonia and China (with other offerings being
developed). For the same cost as a semester at SU and taking
all SU-approved courses, students can focus upon environmental
courses to some extent. Possibilities are the same as for option
1, above (thus far ENVR students have only done Ecuador).
-
An outside-of-SU study abroad program in the summer
or for a semester. ENVR students have gone to Australia,
New Zealand, Spain, Costa Rica, and Brazil. For further information
