Max Melstrom
Max Melstrom teaches in both the Environmental Studies and
Economics departments. His areas of expertise include valuing
natural resources and the economics of wildlife management. He
received a B.A. in Economics and Business at Kalamazoo College
in 2007 and an M.A. in Economics at Michigan State University in
2009. He is completing a Ph.D. at Michigan State University with
a specialization in Environmental and Resource Economics. He is
especially interested in the recreational use of resources and
the management of endangered species. His dissertation includes
papers that examine the economics of Piping Plover management
and the value of Great Lakes recreational fishing.
