A Reading with Kirk Nesset, Author of Mr. Agreeable

Kirk Nesset will be reading on Tuesday, March 9, at 8
pm in the Commons as part of the Department of English
Writers on the Shore series. Nesset is the author of
five books (two of them forthcoming), and his fiction,
poetry, essays, and translations have appeared in
prominent journals such as The New England Review, The
Kenyon Review, and The Paris Review. Commenting on
Nesset’s most recent book of short stories, Mr.
Agreeable, Mississippi writer (and winner of the William
Faulkner award) Barry Hannah relates, “Nesset is attuned
to the fine-edged songs of the mundane, alert to the
explosions ready to burst even in the dull routes where
our lives lead. All this without forcing the drama or
cheating the literal crawl of time. I wish I could
manage this. Hurrah!”
