Gerald Habarth: Paintings without Boundaries
Animator and Painter Gerald Habarth will present on his work included in the
current exhibition at Salisbury University’s Electronic Gallery, Altered
Landscapes: An Immersive Environment. The artist’s talk will be Friday,
November 21st at 5:00 in the new TETC building on the SU campus in room 153.
Habarth uses painting and drawing to create fantastic animations that
will challenge your notions about art. Through his work, he forms a
compelling relationship between traditional painting and computer-based
artwork. The imagery in his two-dimensional pieces comes to life in a
variety of ways. Through a unique blend of media, he engages the viewer in a
meaningful and dynamic process. Altered Landscapes presents five
perspectives exploring our changing relationships to nature, culture,
environment and technology.
Habarth is currently an Assistant Professor of Electronic Media at West
Virginia University. His work has been shown in numerous exhibitions in the
U.S. and abroad, including the Florida Film Festival. Altered Landscapes: An
Immersive Environment can be seen at the Electronic Gallery in the TETC
building from 11am to 4pm, Monday through Friday, and 12pm to 4pm Sunday,
until November 28th.
