Declare the AAT in Elementary Education at Your Community College

  • It is important that your advisor know now of your intention to complete the AAT degree.

  • If you want to major in early childhood education, take Introduction to Early Childhood at your community college in addition to your AAT courses in elementary education

  Complete the PRAXIS I Exam

  • Have your PRAXIS I Scores sent to your community college, Salisbury University, and the State of Maryland.  When you register for the tests, you will be asked to identify these three "score recipients."  You automatically receive a copy of your own scores, so you don't have to specify yourself as a recipient.

Keep your original PRAXIS I Score Report in a safe place.

  • It's a good idea to have a few copies of your score report on hand.  We may ask you to provide us a copy, even if you specified us as score recipients.

Apply for Admission to Salisbury University in Fall of Sophomore Year.

  Start thinking about your minor

  • Teachers with skills in math, science, and Spanish are especially needed.  Consider declaring a minor in one of these areas.  Nine credits of the minor must be completed at Salisbury University.

Plan to attend an Open House so you can meet faculty and see the campus.
