2014 Fall

  • MUSA 205-002 CLASS PIANO I
    Group piano instruction with individual help, to develop fundamental piano skills for students with little or no piano experience. Basic skills included are reading, harmonization, transposition, improvization, and compositional techniques. Each course may be repeated once for credit. Prerequisite: MUSC 201 or equivalent; Piano I a prerequisite to Piano II. Two hours per week.
  • MUSA 206-001 CLASS PIANO II
    Group piano instruction with individual help, to develop fundamental piano skills for students with little or no piano experience. Basic skills included are reading, harmonization, transposition, improvization, and compositional techniques. Each course may be repeated once for credit. Prerequisite: MUSC 201 or equivalent; Piano I a prerequisite to Piano II. Two hours per week.
  • MUSC 201-001 INTRO TO MUSIC THEORY
    Principles of music construction based on a historical perspective of music theory in Western culture. Emphasis on the nature of modes and/or tonal centers and the organization of melody, harmony and voice leading utilizing basic elements of keys, scales, chords, notation and ear training. Three hours per week with enhancement. Meets General Education IIIA or IIIC (Prior to Fall 2008: IB).

2015 Spring

  • MUSA 206-001 CLASS PIANO II
    Group piano instruction with individual help, to develop fundamental piano skills for students with little or no piano experience. Basic skills included are reading, harmonization, transposition, improvization, and compositional techniques. Each course may be repeated once for credit. Prerequisite: MUSC 201 or equivalent; Piano I a prerequisite to Piano II. Two hours per week.
