GERM 101-001 ELEMENTARY GERMAN I Beginning spoken and written German with emphasis on the sound system and the basic structures of the language. Any student with two or more years of high school German or equivalent experience is ineligible for this course without express permission of the instructor. Three hours per week. Meets General Education IIIA or IIIC (Prior to Fall 2008: IB).
GERM 310-001 ORAL & WRITTEN COMPOSITION Develops facility to sustain oral and written discussion in German. Students practice the basic patterns of German syntax and develop vocabulary by preparing frequent oral and written compositions. Recommended Prerequisite: GERM 202 or equivalent experience. Three hours per week with enhancement.
MDFL 245-001 THE GERMAN PEOPLE Cross-cultural approach to the study of the German culture through the language, traditions and the lifestyle of the people. Taught in English. Three hours per week with enhancement. Meets General Education IIIA or IIIC (Prior to Fall 2008: IB).
