2014 Fall

  • THEA 100-001 THEATRE APPRECIATION
    Introduction to theatre as a unified art with emphasis upon the literary and social significance of theatre in our society. Three hours per week with enhancement. Meets General Education IIIA or IIIC.
  • THEA 125-007 THEATRE PRACTICUM
    Provides supervised experience in theatre production and performance topics. May be repeated for a total of eight credit hours; only two hours may count towards Design and Production or Performance tracks. Prerequisite: Permission of the instructor. (P/F). One hour per week.
  • THEA 125-008 THEATRE PRACTICUM
    Provides supervised experience in theatre production and performance topics. May be repeated for a total of eight credit hours; only two hours may count towards Design and Production or Performance tracks. Prerequisite: Permission of the instructor. (P/F). One hour per week.
  • THEA 125-009 THEATRE PRACTICUM
    Provides supervised experience in theatre production and performance topics. May be repeated for a total of eight credit hours; only two hours may count towards Design and Production or Performance tracks. Prerequisite: Permission of the instructor. (P/F). One hour per week.
  • THEA 210-001 DESIGN FUNDAMENTALS
    Study of the art and craft of scenography through plays and dramatic literature. Focuses on character and script analysis, drafting, scene painting and rendering, collage/assemblage and model building. Design and Production Track Prerequisite: THEA 110. Three hours per week with enhancement.
  • THEA 492-003 INDEPENDENT STUDY IN THEA
    Direceted study of a theatre or theatre-related topic. May be taken twice under different subtitles for a total of eight hours; only four hours may count toward upper-level degree requirement. Prerequisites: Junior standing, 3.0 major GPA, proposal and permission of instructor and department chair during program planning. Four hours per week.
  • THEA 499-001 CAPSTONE SEMINAR
    Summarizes the University theatre experience through active planning and execution of professional materials, including audition monologue and portfolio, leading to a senior showing with exit interview. Prerequisites: Senior standing, theatre majors only. Two hours per week.

    Focuses on the process, techniques, analysis, and practice of scene painting and scenic art for the stage and other performance and display spaces. Examines interpretation and decision making in the collaborative process between the scenic artist and designers and craftsmen. Three hours per week with enhancement.
