2014 Fall

  • ART 121-004 DESIGN PRINCIPLES
    Introduction to and development of knowledge and comprehension of the underlying principles of visual composition, through the creation of designs. Bulk supplies are provided, but students need to furnish some materials. Major Corequisite: ART 130; no corequisite for non-majors. Six hours per week. Meets General Education IIIA or IIIC (Prior to Fall 2008: IB).
  • ART 130-001 DRAWING I
    Introduction to basic drawing principles, using a combination of black and white media in the exploration of linear and tonal elements. Students furnish their own materials. B.A. and B.F.A. core. Major Corequisite: ART 121; no corequisite for non-majors. Six hours per week. Meets General Education IIIA or IIIC (Prior to Fall 2008: IB).
  • ART 130-003 DRAWING I

    Introduction to techniques in oil, acrylics and watercolor. Students furnish their own materials. B.A. and B.F.A. core. Major Prerequisites: ART 121, 130, 201. Non-Major Prerequisite: ART 130. Six hours per week.
  • ART 345-001 ADVANCED COMPOSITION
    A process-oriented drawing course emphasizing increased levels of abstraction using a variety of media with special focus on formal issues. Prerequisites: ART 121, ART 130, ART 246. Six hours per week.
