  • CHEM 121-512 GENERAL CHEMISTRY I
    Study of fundamental laws of chemistry and atomic structure emphasizing quantitative relationships. Prerequisite: Two years high school algebra and chemistry, or CHEM 100. Three hours lecture, one three-hour laboratory per week. Meets General Education IVA or IVB (Prior to Fall 2008: IIIA or IIIB).
  • CHEM 121-562 GENERAL CHEMISTRY I
    Study of fundamental laws of chemistry and atomic structure emphasizing quantitative relationships. Prerequisite: Two years high school algebra and chemistry, or CHEM 100. Three hours lecture, one three-hour laboratory per week. Meets General Education IVA or IVB (Prior to Fall 2008: IIIA or IIIB).
  • CHEM 122-521 GENERAL CHEMISTRY II

  • CHEM 221-522 ORGANIC CHEMISTRY I
    An introduction to the structure, properties and reactivity of carbon compounds. Analysis of molecular structure, including bonding, conformation and isomerism, is applied to the mechanisms of organic chemical reactions. Emphasis is placed on problem solving and effective communication of chemical ideas. Prerequisite: C or better in CHEM 122. Three hours lecture, three hours laboratory per week. Meets General Education IVB (Prior to Fall 2008: IIIB).
  • CHEM 221-531 ORGANIC CHEMISTRY I
