CHEM 403-010 PRINCIPLES OF CHEM RESEARCH Individual undergraduate research on approved subject under supervision of a member of the faculty. Students will be introduced to the chemical literature, writing styles, and presentation styles used in chemistry. Prerequisite: Twenty-four hours of chemistry and permission of department chair. Nine hours per week.

CHEM 101-010 PHYSICAL SCIENCE Introduces students to the fundamental concepts of the physical sciences. The course will emphasize practical applications, especially those which integrate all of the natural sciences. Credit may not be received for both CHEM 101 and PHYS 101. Prerequisite: MATH 130 or college algebra. Three hours lecture and two hours lab per week. Meets General Education IVA or IVB (Prior to Fall 2008: IIIA or IIIB).

CHEM 310-010 INTERMED CHEM RESEARCH Intermediate level individual chemical research on an approved subject under supervision of a member of the faculty. Written report and seminar presentation required. May be taken for credit. May not be used to satisfy requirements of chemistry major or minor. Prerequisites: Consent of department and successful completion of, or current enrollment in CHEM 221. Two hours laboratory per week per credit.
