Course Evaluations at Salisbury University
As part of the educational process, students are to complete
course evaluations at the end of their courses, but before final
exams. The feedback collected from the course evaluation
is used by academic departments in the improvement of the
curriculum and used in the promotion and tenure process of
faculty.
About the Project
Over the past several years, various departments have been
making the transition from scantron and hand written course
evaluations to conducting course evaluations online. In
May 2009, the Faculty Senate Learning with Technology Committee
reviewed various course evaluation products and recommended that
course evaluations should be conducted online through GullNet.
In Winter 2010, a pilot of course evaluations was conducted
with the Communication Arts and Psychology Departments.
During Spring 2010 the Departments of Communication Arts,
Psychology, Respiratory Therapy and Medical Technology conducted
their course evaluations online through GullNet. Since
then, the number of departments conducting their course
evaluations through GullNet is increasing each semester.
