Suicide Prevention Day: Tuesday, Tuesday, September
10th at 10 a.m. - 2p.m. Informational tables will be in located
in front of the Commons, Guerrieri University Center. Don’t
miss out on STAND4YOU S.W.A.G and our Mardi Gras Beads with
Meaning table. STAND4YOU will also be raising money for the
American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and recruiting walkers
for the STAND4YOU team.
of the Darkness Walk in Ocean City, MD: Saturday, September
28th at 10:00 a.m., STAND4YOU will be participating in the Ocean
City, MD "Out of the Darkness Walk," benefiting the American
Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). The Out of the Darkness
Community Walks are 3-5 mile walks taking place in hundreds
of communities across the country this year, with the proceeds
benefiting the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP).
By walking in the Out of the Darkness Community Walks, you will
be walking with thousands of other walkers nationwide to raise
money for AFSP's vital research and education programs to prevent
suicide and save lives, increase national awareness about depression
and suicide, and provide support for survivors of suicide loss.
In deciding to walk you are taking us a step closer to making
suicide prevention a national priority.
Anyone is welcome to join the Salisbury University-STAND4YOU
team. The first 200 STAND4YOU team walkers at the event will
receive a free STAND4YOU t-shirt. T-shirts will be distributed
at 9:30 a.m. sharp at 4 Caroline St. on the boardwalk. Lunch
will be available to participants at the “Post-Walk Social”

- Depression Awareness Month (October): Speakers,
Depression Screenings and other activities will be taking place
throughout the month of October to increase awareness of Depression
and other mental health issues.
