Dining At SU

The 124,000-square- foot Commons building is a dining facility, conference center and special event venue all rolled into one. Its ground floor houses the campus bookstore and post office. The main level features dining rooms and the two serving areas, the Marketplace and the Bistro. The second floor has offices, event rooms and a formal dining room.

The Commons Marketplace food court features 10 different food kiosks serving everything from Mexican food , pasta and fresh dough pizza to home-style cooking, made-to-order stir-fries and deli sandwiches.

Next door to the Marketplace is the Bistro, serving buffet-style meals. The Bistro is designed for casual elegance—a place to meet for an intimate lunch or dinner . The 270-seat Bistro is ideal for special events.

The 400-seat Dorchester Room, large and airy with its ceiling 2 1/2 stories up, has palladium windows and dormers to bring the outdoors inside.

The Somerset, Caroline and Talbot rooms offer a smaller, quieter setting, with round-square tables for groups of different sizes. All three seat 80 to 100 people, and are ideal places for meetings.

The Rotunda is a domed room with cafe chairs and glass-top tables which seats 80. The room is lit by canister lights around the perimeter and indirect daylight from the windowed dome two stories above.

The Commons is a beautiful facility with high, vaulted ceilings and large windows. A variety of rooms are available from spacious ballrooms to more intimate settings.
