Every fall, PACE sponsors a 1-credit College Student Voting Seminar, which is taught by Dr. Harry Basehart.  The students learn about the importance of voting, the voting process and conduct a Voter Registration/Absentee Ballot Application Drive.

During a two week period at the end of September and the beginning of October, the student team visits classes and talks about the importance of voting.  They help students fill out voter registration forms and absentee ballot applications. In addition, the team staffs a table in the Dining Hall during dinner.

This fall (2006) student Adam Meehan helped coordinate our voter registration initiative. This year PACE participated in a national research project sponsored by the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU) and Young Voter Strategies (YVS) at George Washington University. The purpose of the research was to evaluate the effectiveness of classroom-based registration, which has been preferred by PACE, as well as other voter registration methods.
