Spring 2007 Citizen Workshop II Projects

Twenty-one students participated in this workshop. Some of the issues their projects addressed were:

3.  Development and Traffic Issues on Onley Road - Salisbury, MD

4.  Environmental Issues with the Mill Creek Pumping Station

5.  Dental Care Assistance Programs in Salisbury

6.  Teacher Shortage in Dorchester County

7.  Helping Motivate English Language Learner (ELL) Students Through Test Exemption

8.  A Self-Sustaining Museum: The Locale Problem of Salisbury University's Ward Museum

9.  The Banned Historic Flag of Belarus: The Problem of Displaying the Flag at Salisbury University

10. Pedestrian Safety

11. The Conversion from Transitional Housing to Financial Independence

12. Smoking Bans: How to Prepare and React

13. Children in the Community and in Foster Care with Disabilities


Fall 2006 Citizen Workshop II Projects

Three students participated in this workshop.  Their projects addressed the following Issues:

1.  Funding and Demand for ESOL classes in Wicomico County

2.  Overpopulation in Calvert County Public Schools

3.  Homelessness in Harford County


Spring 2006 Citizen Workshop II Projects

Five students participated in this workshop.  Their projects addressed the following questions.

1. What are the property rights in Prince George's County with regards to anti-development legislation?

2. What can the city of Camden, NJ work on that will help it return to the prosperous city it was in the 1950’s?

3. What can Jefferson County, West Virginia do with regards to their loss of teachers to Loudoun Co. VA?

4. Where should Hereford, MD build a new indoor and outdoor sports facility?

5. What are the issues surrounding the development of the Blackwater Resort Community project near Cambridge, MD.?
