How many guest tickets will each graduate receive?
Each bachelors degree candidate will receive 6
guest tickets for the undergraduate ceremonies on May 22.
For masters degree candidates, there is no ticket limit for the
graduate ceremony on May 21. Tickets will be distributed
with caps and gowns at the Graduation Pick-Up Fair at the
Bookstore, April 14 - 18.
QUESTION: As a guest, can I obtain a ticket directly?
ANSWER: No, tickets are issued to graduating students
only. It is up to each student to invite his or her guests.
QUESTION: Who needs a ticket
go get into the ceremony?
ANSWER: All guests entering the Civic Center
will need a ticket. Children of all ages
require a ticket, including babies and young children. Graduates
do not need a ticket.
QUESTION: I have guests who can't
make it that day. Are there options for them?
Commencement ceremonies will be webcast so that family and friends
may enjoy the celebration, even if they cannot attend the
ceremony. On Commencement Day, look for
the link on SU's home page. The link will be activated
just before each ceremony begins.
QUESTION: I lost my cap/gown/tassel/academic
ANSWER: Contact the SU Bookstore. On the day of
commencement, Bookstore personnel will be available in the Civic Center to
assist with such issues.
QUESTION: How is the
student commencement speaker
are eligible to apply if they:
with University Honors (undergraduates only);
have a GPA of 3.5
- undergraduates - have completed or will complete by the end
of the semester at least 56 semester hours at SU, of
which at least 30 semester hours are in 300- or 400-level
courses with grades of A,B, orC.
Members of the Commencement Committee review and select a
commencement speaker based on speech submissions.

graduates have to be at the Civic
ANSWER: Graduates should report
to the Civic Center one hour prior to the start of the ceremony. Be
prepared to remain in the Civic Center once you enter. Do not
bring personal belongings. Airhorns, balloons
and banners are not permitted.
QUESTION: When will the ceremony finish?

ANSWER: Dressy but not formal is suggested. However, a
wide range of attire can be seen at most ceremonies.
QUESTION: Can I videotape the ceremony?
ANSWER: Guests may videotape or photograph the ceremony
from their seats only.

ANSWER: The Commencement ceremony is on the day
immediately following the last day of final exams with some
