Dr. Fred Kundell earned his first degree an A.B. from Harpur College (now Binghamton University). He then completed a Ph.D. from the University of Maryland College Park. Dr. Kundell has a diverse teaching background. This includes a Visiting Assistant Professorship at the University of Maryland a "Lector" at Aarhus University Denmark and an Assistant through Full Professorship at Salisbury University. He now teaches Physical Chemistry Survey of Physical Chemistry Polymer Chemistry General Chemistry and Energy and the Environment.

In addition to teaching Dr. Kundell now serves as the Science Admission Coordinator for the Henson School of Science and Technology (SSU) and has served for fifteen years as the Chair of the Department of Chemistry (1981-1995). He also served as a Science Specialist for the U.S. House of Representatives (1977) and as the Associate Dean of the College (SSU) from 1972-1976. Dr. Kundell's primary research is developing procedures to for the use of soybean oil as a feedstock starting material for the polymer industry.
