The Greater Salisbury Committee and Salisbury University, with endorsement from the Office of the Salisbury Mayor, are offering a leadership training series for young professionals in Salisbury and the surrounding area.
Starting in March 2017, and running one Thursday afternoon a month through October, this series will involve leadership training plus the opportunity to get in-depth knowledge of area issues, businesses, facilities, and the economic development engines that drive our community. Each session of the series will begin at Noon with a brown bag lunch, and conclude at 4:30 p.m. Site tours, panel discussion, and leadership activities will be the key components of the series.
Greg Bassett, Editor of the Salisbury Independent newspaper, will serve as the facilitator during our monthly sessions. Q&A centering on the site visit and that day’s theme will be encouraged each month. Following the final meeting in September, a celebration will be held in October.
Please look closely at your calendars. Consistent participation by all is very important. We are fully aware that this series represents a significant commitment of time. It also represents a modest investment in time and resources by those planning and hosting it, and, thus, comes with a few expenses. In order to cover those expenses, a fee of $300 per person will be charged for participating in this series.
** A limited amount of financial assistance is available. Please contact the Center of Extended and Lifelong Learning (firstname.lastname@example.org) by February 15, 2017 to be considered.
