Is College Worth the Cost? Can My Son/Daughter Find Employment After Graduation?

View employer quotes about hiring SU graduates
View mentor quotes concerning how important their education was

With so much going on in economics of the world today and the cost of higher education being quite expensive there is a growing question of accountability.  We want to examine and show what is happening in higher ed as it relates to employment and be very open and transparent about what we are doing to help our graduates and explaining what they are doing.  Below is data that examines the notion "Is a college degree worth it"?

In the most recent MHEC (Maryland High Education Commission) SU student performed in this manner:

  • 90% of SU graduates are employed one-year after graduation.
  • 95% of SU graduates reported satisfaction with their level of preparation for employment while almost 100% reported satisfied with their level of preparation for graduate or professional school.
  • 95% of SU recent graduates reported satisfaction with their level of preparation for employment.
  • Almost 100% of recent SU graduates reported satisfied with their level of preparation for graduate or professional school.

First Destination Survey Data:

Career Services conducts a "First Destination" Graduation Survey every May and a 6-10 month follow-up survey of those May graduates.  The May surveys are the initial graduation surveys administered 2 weeks prior to graduation.  The 6-10 month out survey (those students who were surveyed in May are surveyed again 6-10 months after graduation) is a survey we do of those same May graduates but 6-10 months after they graduate.
