Job Title: Internal Audit Internship

The Opportunity: As a member of the Audit Team, summer interns will participate in audits of the Fannie Mae business, and have responsibility for assessing the adequacy and effectiveness of a business’ internal control environment and providing value-add solutions to Internal Audit and Business Management. The internship will be for twelve weeks beginning in June in our Washington, DC offices. Description: • Participate as a key team member on audit projects • Assist the Audit Team in the identification, assessment and evaluation of key business risks and the applicable controls to mitigate those risks • Develop and present value-add solutions to address identified control opportunities and risk exposures • Responsible for documenting and reviewing business processes • Assist senior auditors and team leaders to assess risks and evaluate controls • Develop and execute audit tests • Develop recommendations to close identified control gaps • Ensure effective and efficient execution of audits in conformance with professional and department standards, budgets, and timelines • Proficient use of automated work papers and other department and company tools • Maintain internal audit competency through ongoing professional development Qualifications: • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and the ability to contribute to a team atmosphere • Self-starter, strong business acumen, and results focused • Superior communication skills, both oral and written • Knowledge and experience in Audit or the mortgage industry a plus We encourage interested students to visit our website at www.fanniemae.com.
