Information Technology Programming Internship with Maryland State Archives

Who: Undergraduate or graduate level college students attending Maryland schools or Maryland residents attending out-of-state schools are eligible to apply. The competitive selection process is based on an evaluation of the following application materials:

  • Cover letter (statement of how you will benefit from the program and how the agency will benefit from your participation)
  • Maryland State Employment Application Form (MS 100) - may be downloaded at http://www.mdsa.net/msa/intromsa/employ/doc/ms100.doc
    Note: There is no announcement number. Use "IT Intern" as the job title on the form.
  • Academic transcripts
  • A letter of recommendation from a faculty member

What: During the internship program, the intern will engage in a variety of activities related to the designing, developing, testing, implementing and maintaining applications and programs. Application development at the archives is centered around object oriented, database driven desktop and web applications for internal use. Knowledge of VB.NET, ASP.NET, ColdFusion, HTML, and/or MS SQL Server is preferred. Any additional programming experience in other languages is also a plus. Interns will receive an hourly wage, paid bi-weekly. Hourly rates are based on education level: undergraduate at $10.99 per hour, and graduate at $11.61 per hour.
