Description Of Internship: The duties can vary based on the interests and skill set of the intern. Typically the intern assists the regional director with researching and writing memos for the Senator's recess activities in state, attends some meetings and events with the director, can travel along on county days, assists with constituent relations, answers phones, etc.
Qualifications: The applicant should have a strong interest and some related classwork in political science and/or public policy. This office typically deals with issues that include the environment, agriculture, economic development, health care and Army Corps projects.
