COMPENSATION:  Unpaid Internship. We will be glad to provide any information,
reports or evaluations required for you to obtain college credit for this internship and/or  provide a letter of recommendation for candidates that complete their assigned responsibilities professionally and successfully. 

DESCRIPTION:
Utilize artistic and technical skills to create print and online marketing collateral for various
programs and special events organized by Wicomico County Recreation, Parks & Tourism. Creativity, independence, flexibility and accountability are appreciated and encouraged. Intern will produce several items for his/her portfolio.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Assist the marketing department on a variety of design projects and gain an understanding of the importance of branding and project management.
  • Assist with layout, text edits or complete redesign of existing marketing collateral
    including brochures, flyers, etc.
  • Interact with different departments and help staff plan and design projects including
    coordinating materials and informational components.
  • Assist with e-newsletters, file management and website maintenance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Wicomico County reserves the right to use all design work completed during this internship.

REQUIREMENTS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Current student or recent graduate at a college, institute or university in a graphic design program.
  • Demonstrate interest in pursuing a degree in graphic design. Emphasis in marketing or
    communications field a plus.
  • Knowledge of design and layout principles.
  • Ability to work independently and complete assigned tasks within identified timeframes.
  • Excellent computer skills including the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator &
    PhotoShop) and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Your own computer and design software is useful, but not required.
  • A valid driver’s license and transportation.
