Job Description:
Graduate Assistant Office of New Student Experience And Parent Programs Position Description The Office of New Student Experience is seeking a graduate assistant to support our efforts in new student experience and parent programming. This position will contribute to the overall program planning and implementation process of Preview (Summer and Winter Course Registration), Outdoor Programs, Open House, Admitted Student Day and Family Weekend. The position will work 20 hours per week scheduled from Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Specific responsibilities will include: Assist with all details associated with the development and implementation of Preview (Summer and Winter Registration) for both students and their families. Assist with the development and use of a website and other technology resources in support of new student experience and parent programming. Develop and implement training for Preview peer leaders and other associated development opportunities to further enhance an understanding of the position. Serve on various committees which focus on student transition programs, parent/family programs and other retention programs. Provide support and assistance in the development of parent and family programs. And other duties as may be assigned. Term and Benefits: Term of graduate assistant contract is one (1) academic year, with the probability of a second contract term. Availability for Full-time summer and winter employment required. Pay rate will be hourly during those times. Occasional weekend work will be required. The graduate assistant will receive tuition waiver and stipend for semester hours. Qualifications: Applicants should be proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Microsoft Expression Web 4). Desirable qualities include: hard-working, self-motivated, solid ethical decision making skills and the ability to think quickly and critically, adaptable to change, flexible, clear and concise verbal and written communication skills, solid organizational skills, high energy, and respect for diversity.
