Post Graduation Statistics
The purpose of the post graduation statistics initiative is to provide insight into the employment status or continuing education plans for Salisbury University graduates (Bachelors, Masters, and Doctorate) within an average of 6 to 9 months of their graduation date. Additionally, the data provides detailed employment information, salary statistics, and graduate school information. These statistical reports constitute the only centralized employment data collection for Salisbury University and the data is used by current students, employers, departments, and other stakeholders. Finally, the post graduation data provides graduates with an opportunity to report their success in the ever competitive world of work or graduate school.

Stakeholder Use of Career Outcomes Data
Several SU departments use the data for accreditation purposes
Current and prospective students use the data when choosing a major
Current students use employment information statistics in job and internship searches
Parents use the information to gauge return on investment
Employers use salary information in hiring process
The data collection cycle is completed for the graduating class of each academic year. For example, the class of 2016 consists of May 2016 graduates. In this example, we start collecting data in October 2015 and end the cycle in February of 2016.
Each May graduating class is surveyed 2-3 weeks prior to graduation by setting up computers in the Bookstore. This is the timeframe students are given to pickup their cap and gown in the Bookstore for graduation. We receive approximately an 80% response rate.
At approximately six months after graduation, we contract HEOP Data Inc. to collect data on our graduates. We typically receive a 31-36% response rate.
7-9 months after graduation we send out our own graduation survey to those graduates who did not show-up on the HEP Data collection. Typically we receive another 15% response.
Finally we have graduate students "mine" LinkedIn and to obtain an additional 15%.
Our goal is to record at least a 60% response rate.
