What is Secondary Education? -  top

In the U.S., secondary education, commonly known as high school, typically includes grades 9-12. Secondary education students learn about general subjects, such as English, math and science, and complete elective courses. Secondary education schools take many forms and offer a variety of learning environments. Schools offering Education Administration degrees can also be found in these popular choices.
Secondary Education Structure

In the U.S., secondary education typically encompasses grades 9-12, but grades 6-8 also may be included in some school districts. Public high school is the most common form of secondary education.

In primary school, students generally are assigned to one classroom and one teacher for an entire academic year. In the typical secondary education structure, however, students attend various classes in different classrooms throughout the day. Class periods typically range from 30 to 90 minutes, with a different teacher conducting each class.
