4. Mentee Request for Career Insight Advice-

Hello,

I am currently a student at Salisbury University and found your mentor profile in my school's mentor program located on Career Connections.  I have noticed that you have experience related to the industry and career path I have chosen and I am very interested in learning more about this field from someone as knowledgeable as you. Being on the academic side of this career has been challenging and rewarding but I want to know what this career is about from someone who has been in the working environment. I am fortunate to have access to a person in your position to answer many of the questions I have.

I am excited about the possibility of talking to you about your career and would very much like to arrange an informational interview to hear your first‐hand insight and perspective. I will call you this week to see if it is possible to schedule a small amount of your time (I know you are very busy) to discuss the career I have chosen. The chance to learn from someone who is in the “real world” of work is an opportunity to gain a perspective I don’t currently have.

Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Sammy Seagull
