Jeff Pontius

-EVP of Business Development
-SPI Solar
-Major: Finance
-Minor: Economics
Why do you think SU was a good place for your career preparation?
"SU provided a great atmosphere of critical in-classroom learning along with real-world application that allowed me to immediately have an impact at the start of my career."

Do you feel your college education played a key role in obtaining your current position?
"SU was a critical step in my career development to establish the foundation which led to graduate school and several international career opportunities."

Harry R. Brubaker
-CEO/Owner
-Brubaker & Associates Realty Services
-Major: Business Administration
Why do you think SU was a good place for your career preparation?
"The Perdue Business School and its faculty exposed me to a wide variety of career choices. Such choices dramatically helped me land my first 'post' college job in my field of interest. Combined with an internship with an entrepreneurial professor, I was bit by the entrepreneur bug and have never looked back. Salisbury also was instrumental in preparing me for acceptance to one of the country's leading B School MBA programs. Thanks Frank P. Sr!"

Patrick John

-Owner, CEO
-MINT
-Major: Business Administration
Why do you think SU was a good place for your career preparation?
"Because the college is relatively small, there was good access to professors and I never felt like a number."

Do you feel your college education played a key role in obtaining your current position?
"I own my own company, so my degree didn't matter for obtaining my position."

Do you think you would be where you are today without your college education?
"Definitely needed my education."

Were you or are you satisfied with your SU education as it relates to your job function?
"Yes, I find that I frequently apply specifics from my education to my work."

Kayla Smith

-Admissions Counselor
-Salisbury University
-Major: Marketing
-Minor: Management
Why do you think SU was a good place for your career preparation?
Salisbury provided many opportunities to grow, learn, and expand on classroom material. Through internships, competitions, and extracurricular activities, I was able to apply what I was learning in the classroom to real-life situations. This preparation for a career was greatly beneficial in both the interview process and securing a job as I was able to articulate how I had used my education and skills in work settings.

Kevin Hooker
, MCTS
-Senior Consultant
-Booz ı Allen ı  Hamilton
-Major: Management
-Minor: Information Systems
Why do you think SU was a good place for your career preparation?
SU was a good place for my career preparation because it provided me with the skills that I need to function in a day-to-day Department of Defense atmosphere and professional environment. The practice in public speaking I was exposed to at SU has directly impacted my presentation skills which I apply when briefing Colonels, Commanders, Majors, Captains, and Lieutenants of the United States Air Force, Navy, and Army.

Do you feel your college education played a key role in obtaining your current position?
My college education provided by SU played a major role in allowing me to land the opportunity for the career path that I am following. Without the knowledge gained from the business management courses I took while in the Perdue School, I would not have had a competitive chance when interviewing with Booz Allen Hamilton who is a leader in the Defense contracting world.

Do you think you would be where you are today without your college education?
I know for a fact that I would not be where I am today if it weren't for the education I received at Salisbury U. The professors, faculty, and students help each other prepare to thrive in today's competitive workplace. I am well on my way to retirement (hopefully sooner than later) and I owe it all to SU.

Were you or are you satisfied with your SU education as it relates to your job function?
In relation to my job function, I am 100% satisfied with the education I received from Salisbury University. It provided me with the skills, tools, and knowledge in which I need to perform my job at the highest level of service possible. I am on my way to becoming a leader in my industry and within my field of work and I owe it all to my start at SU.. Go Gulls!
Melissa Graves
-Office Manager
-Gateway Pediatrics, PA
-Major: Marketing
-Minor: Art
Why do you think SU was a good place for your career preparation?
SU was a great place for my career preparation as it was in my hometown. It was convenient for me to hold a steady job while going to school; knowing that I wouldn't have to leave to go visit home on weekends or over the summer.

Do you feel your college education played a key role in obtaining your current position?
College education definitely played a key role in attaining the position I am in today. Not only for my employer, but also for my business contacts (vendors, customers, etc.). I am young for my position, but my college education prepared me for it.
