The Residential Dormitory Head is responsible for overseeing Landi Hall, both the farmhouse and the dormitory.   • Act as the point person for all transportation communications and schedules for residential students’ arrivals and departures
  • Act as an advisor, in conjunction with other dormitory personnel, for resident students, communicating with families (or Cambridge)once a month about social adjustment (information also gathered by student’s in-school advisor)
  • Communicate all resident needs to appropriate school personnel (including maintenance on facility and vehicles, finances, technology, student concerns)
  • Create the duty schedule for all dorm parents (Holiday and Winter Break, dorm is closed)
  • Update rules and regulations each year for resident handbook in conjunction with Dean of Student Life and Upper School Head
  • In conjunction with other dorm parents, create weekend activities schedule for students, including opportunities for community service
  • Purchase breakfast foods and snacks for dorm; coordinate catered dinners; once a week supervise  group cooking for dinner
  • Foster residential community through activities to encourage bonding

The work demands at Con-way Freight are vigorous and challenging. Dock Workers will need to be able to load and unload freight in a timely manner utilizing the appropriate motorized, manual equipment and by hand as needed. Additionally, you must:

Safely walk and stand for extended periods of time on a loading dock which is not climate-controlled and may be slippery; reach (including above your head), bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat and kneel as necessary to perform the job duties. Verify and complete required documentation. Have ability to handle hazardous materials. Adhere to company safety policies. Several mandatory training workshops are held during the week of June 11, 2014.

The Upward Bound Program Math and Science Program is one of the nationwide Federally-funded TRIO educational programs designed to strengthen the math and science skills of participating students. Job Description:
From June 21, 2014 through July 25, 2014, forty (40) college-bound high school students from Baltimore City Public High Schools will participate in an academic–intensive program on the campuses of Towson University and Baltimore City Community College. Tutor/counselors will work with certified instructors in academic areas and lead/supervise students during cultural, recreational and social activities. Tutor/counselors are responsible for students on a 24-hour basis from 7:00 am Mondays through 2:00 pm Fridays. Tutor counselors stay on campus with students and report directly to the Residential Coordinators as well as full-time staff.
Responsibilities:
• Attends all required pre- and in-service training sessions and staff meetings
• Reside on campus with students during the week in order to provide live-in supervision
• Plan and supervise dorm activities
• Tutor students during evening study sessions
• Actively monitor student behavior and performance
• Supervise field trips and group activities
• Represent the Baltimore City Community College Upward Bound program in a positive manner to students, employees, and visitors at all times
• Assist instructors in classroom during academic sessions
• Makes appropriate referrals to Dorm Coordinator and Administrative Staff

Qualifications:
• Must be an upperclassman (Junior or Senior) at a college or university with a 3.0 or higher GPA, or have a Bachelor's Degree in the tutoring area.

Residential Coordinators

Job Description
June 21, 2014 through July 25, 2014.
The Residential Coordinator serves as a liaison between full-time Upward Bound staff and Tutor Counselors.  Residential Coordinators stay on campus and report directly to the full-time faculty.  The Residential Coordinator exhibits leadership and encourages team work and a positive atmosphere in the dorms.  They are responsible for dorm activities, discipline, team supervision and record keeping.  The Residential Coordinator is to maintain the best possible group atmosphere.  They coordinate and supervise all personnel aspects of the Tutor Counselors, including scheduling, team management and communication. They also assist in other areas where and when appropriate.  They help develop and carry out student extracurricular activities and will help supervise students on field trips. 

Responsibilities:
The following specifies the major responsibilities delegated to the Residential Coordinator:

• Supervise and evaluate Tutor Counselors
• Reside on campus during the week in order to provide live-in supervision of Tutor Counselors and students
• Implement schedule for tutoring sessions, food service programs, recreational activities
• Work with Tutor Counselors and full time staff members to ensure consistency in disciplinary actions for students.
• Report to Program Director any successes, concerns, or existing problems.
• Coordinate and supervise field days and other recreational activities
• Submit daily report to Upward Bound full time staff
• Submit weekly reports to parents
• Hold daily formal meetings with Tutor Counselors to review schedule, exchange ideas,  and discuss activities
• Maintain safety and security of the dorm and its occupants
•  Ensure all paperwork is completed in a timely fashion and submitted to Program Director.
• Design and implement attendance plan for Tutor Counselors

• Must have a Bachelor’s Degree
• 2+ years experience as a lead classroom teacher

The second away week the leaders and teens are driven to Frederick where they backpack approximately thirty miles on the Appalachian Trail through western Maryland. The trip culminates in a white water rafting trip on Potomac River. TA Staff and teens decide on what camp service project they want to complete. This project, working with younger children, and Spoutwood Farm projects help teens accumulate their state required service learning hours. Responsibilities of the TA Trip Leader include the TA Overnight trip to Bunker Hill -- a five mile hike from NC during the first week of each TA session. Additionally, TA Trip Leaders meet the Sunday before each Appalachian Trail trip for a Gear Check, in order to check the teens' gear, help them pack efficiently, and discuss needed information with the teens and their parents.

  8. Develops and distributes team practice and game schedules; trains and schedules sports officials; develops and distributes sports rules, guidelines and handbooks.
  9. Sets up equipment for games and practices; monitors and purchases necessary sporting equipment as approved.  
  10. Monitors program implementation in accordance with existing budget parameters and participates in the creation of future budgets for continuing and new programs created.
  11. Purchases and distributes team uniforms and camp shirts; coordinates and distributes
    team/camp photographs and awards.
  12. Organizes and hosts season parties and events, promoting healthy eating and good nutrition.
  13. Organizes and conducts youth related sports clinics.
  14. Assists in YMCA fund raising activities and special events.
  15. Responds to all youth-related member and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
  16. Assists with Program and Membership related Committee meetings as requested.
  17. Compiles program statistics.  Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation
    in youth development programs.

Camp Courageous is a year-round recreational and respite
care facility for individuals with disabilities. Campers with
intellectual and physical disabilities, brain injuries, hearing or
visual impairments, autism and other special needs are served.
Working with children and adults with special needs is often a very real challenge.
Campers may need help with personal care including feeding, dressing, and bathroom
needs. Some campers exhibit behavioral challenges. Patience, energy, good judgment

hours are long. An unselfish attitude and an emphasis on teamwork are needed. Staff
