Pool Employment Opportunities
 Lifeguard
try-outs are held each September to fill the 12-15 lifeguarding positions
available for the school year. Minimum qualifications for the position
of lifeguard include: Current certification in Lifeguard Training, First
Aid, and CPR for Professional Rescuers. Additionally, lifeguards
must obtain the State of Maryland Certified Pool Operator certification
to continue employment beyond the first year of hire. Typically,
lifeguards work 10 hours per week.
Summer guard try-outs are
open to campus and community members and are held each April to fill the
10 summer lifeguarding positions. In addition to the qualifications
listed above, current certification in WSI is desired. Summer lifeguards
typically work 30-40 hours per week. For further information on training
