On February 15, 2011 Staff Senators Jackie Eberts, Paul Gasior, Mary Luke, Todd Smith and Karen Wilson visited state legislators
in Annapolis to lobby for new language to be added to the 2011 Budget Reconciliation and Finance Act (BRFA). The current version of the bill
gives university presidents the flexibility to offer retention packages to keep faculty but no
language giving that same
flexibility in regard to staff.
